On March 25, 2027, Moses Boyd sets up his drums at La Bellevilloise in Paris for a concert anchored in his return to recording with Songs For Sinners, his first album in six years. A drummer, composer and producer, he delves into a deeply personal material centered on faith—not as decoration, but as a human experience: what soothes, what divides, what unsettles, what consoles.
On stage, Boyd stretches the contours of a contemporary jazz nourished by gospel and choral harmonies, by sound-system culture and Caribbean rhythms, with 808 bass and a club energy that keeps improvisation at the center. This is the blend that first brought him to notice in London, between spiritual jazz and urban textures, with the drums as the bedrock of a collective, mobile and physical performance. Experienced in crossovers (from Sampha to Little Simz, from Four Tet to Sons of Kemet), he brings this openness to a set designed as much for listening as for movement.
