Young Marco, stage name of Marco Sterk, is a DJ and producer based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Since the late 2000s, he has been part of the Dutch electronic scene with a practice that links house, techno, disco, ambient, balearic and more left-field forms.
His productions advance by moods rather than effects, between supple grooves, diffuse melodies, and a sense of collage, with equal attention to the club and to listening. After his early releases in the early 2010s, Young Marco released Biology in 2011 and issued further releases on labels such as Rush Hour and ESP Institute, while developing a DJ activity marked by broad, cross-genre selections.
This circulation between reissues, dance music and more atmospheric pieces continues with Safe Trip, a label affiliated with Young Marco and based in Amsterdam, which illuminates another facet of his work. Over the years, Young Marco has evolved his language toward a broad spectrum where Italo, slow house, melodic trance, and dreamy electronic music coexist, in clubs as well as on festival stages.
