Info
House Gospel Choir brings the uplift of gospel into the pulse of house. Founded on the dance floor a decade ago by creative director Natalie Maddix, the collective gathers singers who live at the meeting point of club culture and choral power. On 13 September 2026 at Soul Mama Islington in London, they roll out a live set that threads classic house, gospel standards and UK garage into one shared, high-energy session.
Built around massed voices, call-and-response hooks and tight harmonies riding tough rhythms, HGC turns the floor into a choir stall. You don’t need to know every lyric to take part: the show is about joining in, finding your note and letting the groove carry it. The choir’s ethos is simple: we can’t all speak at once and be heard, but we can sing together as one and be understood.
Formed 10 years ago, House Gospel Choir has grown into a community of like-minded singers, translating late-night anthems and Sunday-morning feeling into arrangements that feel immediate and alive. Expect reworks of big house and garage tunes, gospel refrains and moments built for collective release — a reminder of how certain records can still pull strangers into the same chorus.
