Brunch: House Gospel Choir

On 13 December 2026, House Gospel Choir brings its choral take on club culture to Soul Mama Islington, London. Built at the crossroads of gospel harmonies and the pulse of house and UK garage, their live set flips dance classics and spirituals into collective sing-alongs. Expect stacked voices, tight call-and-response and that feeling of everyone moving as one, as the choir reimagines anthems you know by heart.

Formed on the dance floor a decade ago by founder and creative director Natalie Maddix, House Gospel Choir is a community of singers united by voice and rhythm. The project grew from open sessions into a full touring choir, keeping the spirit of the rave while grounding it in choral arrangements shaped for the stage. HGC is built on a simple idea: not everyone can speak at once and be heard, but we can sing together and be understood. Live, they trace a journey from soulful builds to rolling grooves, opening space for the room to lift its voice and join the chorus.
