Nouvelle Vague

Nouvelle Vague, the bossa nova project launched by Marc Collin and the late Olivier Libaux in 2003, brings a new chapter to The Adrian Flux Waterfront in Norwich on 7 March 2027. This show revolves around their seventh album, A Date with Depeche Mode, the first time the collective has devoted a full release to the repertoire of a single band. Thirteen Depeche Mode tracks are reimagined with stripped-back arrangements and a fresh cast of voices, folding the group’s lean, acoustic touch into synth-pop staples.

Recorded in Rio with Brazilian musicians, the album draws on bossa and samba inflections while keeping the melodic spine of the originals. Its first single, Enjoy the Silence, appears as a duet with Skye Edwards (Morcheeba) and Larry Love (Alabama 3), a pared-back version that sets the tone. On stage, expect intimate instrumentation, nylon strings, light percussion and close harmonies — the Nouvelle Vague way of reframing new wave and post-punk songs through a relaxed, acoustic feel.
