Info
Lip Critic arrives at Mains d’Œuvres, in Saint-Ouen, on October 26, 2026. A New York quartet formed in Brooklyn, the band features two drummers and a pronounced taste for genre collisions — post-punk, electropunk and digital hardcore. On stage they hit hard and direct, between hammered rhythms, abrasive electronic textures, spoken word and screams, with deliberately jarring structures that shift the boundaries. It’s a tense, physical, performative approach inherited from the New York indie scene and nourished by electronic detours.
They come to present Theft World, an album born from a story as improbable as it is concrete. On tour, a fan convinced their tracks hid coded messages stole a band member’s banking details and recited his social security number to him in front of the merch table. His theory, populated with figures like the Vending-Machine Man or the Casino-Supermarket, eventually seeped into their imagination. Back in the studio, Lip Critic shelved their demos to embrace this vision and shape a new sonic world. Live, this rogue fiction takes shape in a raw, saturated and disjointed flow, crafted for sweat and adrenaline.
