Info
Nile Rodgers & Chic land at Dreamland Margate, Margate, on 21 August 2026 for a set built on the blueprint they wrote for disco-funk. Formed in 1976 by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, Chic tightened grooves and basslines into songs that still move dancefloors: Le Freak, I Want Your Love, Good Times. On stage, expect crisp guitars, stacked vocals and arrangements that thread their own hits with the wider catalogue Rodgers shaped across late 70s and 80s pop. The band’s live show leans on feel and precision rather than nostalgia, keeping each hook sharp and every break in the pocket.
The Brand New Heavies bring their London-bred acid jazz, anchored by Simon Bartholomew and Andrew Levy. Funk rhythms, horn bursts and soulful lead vocals power tracks that bridge classic soul and contemporary R&B, with the elasticity that made the group a fixture from Brother Sister to TBNH. Their blend of jazz-funk and songcraft slots naturally alongside Chic’s school of groove.
Nigerian-Scottish singer James Emmanuel opens a more intimate window into soul. Raised on gospel and settled in Edinburgh, he writes from lived experience, carrying a warm, expressive voice through stories of resilience, ties and faith. A stripped-back sense of storytelling gives his songs a direct, human pull that sets the tone for the night.
