Embrace

On 14 November 2026 at Manchester Academy in Manchester, Embrace bring a set that spans their journey from 90s Britpop roots to a more open, melodic rock. Formed in West Yorkshire by brothers Danny and Richard McNamara with Steve Firth, Mike Heaton and Mickey Dale, the band built its sound on tense, emotive vocals, melodic guitars and spacious keys, shifting over the years from early urgency to a more reflective writing style.

On stage, they move between singalongs and quieter moments, drawing from across the catalogue: the breakout era of All You Good Good People, Fireworks and One Big Family; the more inward Drawn from Memory and If You’ve Never Been; the 2004 return with Gravity; and recent cuts from How to Be a Person Like Other People. The dynamic is their hallmark — verses that simmer into big choruses, guitars in dialogue with piano lines, and a rhythm section that keeps the pulse steady. Three decades on, Embrace line up the anthems and the slow-burners with the same care, threading warmth and grit into a show built for collective release as much as for quietly soaking in the melodies.
