Info
Garbage and Skunk Anansie share the bill at Cardiff Castle in Cardiff on 22 June 2026, with Du Blonde opening. A meeting of three distinct visions of rock, each with its own edge and history.
Formed in Madison in 1993, Garbage brings the sharp mix that made its name: alternative rock shaped in the studio, guitars woven with electronics, a dark pop sense and Shirley Manson’s unmistakable voice out front. From the self-titled debut and Version 2.0 to more recent releases like No Gods No Masters, the group has built a catalogue that moves between abrasive riffs, programmed beats and clear, memorable hooks. On stage, that hybrid approach turns into a dense, focused set that moves across eras without fuss.
Skunk Anansie, born in London in 1994, comes with Skin’s elastic vocals and a sound that cuts between alternative, hard rock and punk, with flashes of funk and dub. The lyrics dig into power, identity and belief, and the music stays direct and melodic, from Paranoid & Sunburnt and Stoosh to Anarchytecture. The quartet has kept a tight live presence since its return in 2009, built on riffs that hit and rhythms that push forward.
Du Blonde opens with raw guitars, sharp songwriting and a taste for psych, garage and punk, from Welcome Back to Milk to Sniff More Gritty. An introduction that sets the tone before the two headliners take over.
