Info
On 30 May 2026 at the Maison du Cygne in Six-Fours-les-Plages, Renaud Capuçon brings together a chamber ensemble for a programme pairing Schubert and Saint‑Saëns. Alongside him is a finely honed generation of soloists: Iris Scialom (violin), Paul Zientara (viola), Maxime Quennesson (cello), Laurène Helstroffer Durantel (double bass), Mathilde Calderini (flute), Joë Christophe (clarinet), Adélaïde Ferrière (percussion), and two pianists, Guillaume Bellom and Jorge González Buajasan. Actress and journalist Laurence Ferrari lends her voice as narrator.
On the programme, Schubert’s Trout Quintet, D. 667, where the ensemble playing rests on a double‑bass foundation and a supple chamber writing crafted for dialogue between strings and keyboard. Then Saint‑Saëns’s The Carnival of the Animals, playfully arranged for two pianos, winds, percussion and strings, a suite that abounds in colour and winking references. The collective here assembles all the necessary forces: full strings, flute and clarinet in the spotlight, precise percussion, mirrored pianos, and a narrator to guide the listening and weave the threads between the tableaux. An evening conceived to bring out the instrumental combinations and the personalities of each musician, in service of two emblematic works of the repertoire.
