Femi Kuti

On April 11, 2026, at the Saline Royale d’Arc-et-Senans, Femi Anikulapo Kuti brings to Arc-et-Senans the pulse of the afrobeat born in Lagos. Heir to Fela, he has pushed that musical language toward a more contemporary sound where Yoruba rhythms, jazz, funk and touches of punk and hip hop intersect effortlessly. On stage, surrounded by his musicians and dancers, he weaves long grooves, driving brass and vocal lines in English, Pidgin and Yoruba. The spirit of the New Afrika Shrine slips into the hall, with songs carried by lyrics of hope, unity and resistance—crafted as much for dancing as for listening.

Femi Kuti delivers a physical, finely tuned show in which the rhythm section maintains the tension while the arrangements open up in progressive waves. You can hear the highlife inheritance alongside urban modernity, catchy breaks and call-and-response passages that draw the audience in. Opening and for the after-party, Black Voices DJ extends the journey through afro, soul and related sounds, keeping the tempo before and after the live set.
