On July 2, 2026, Magma takes over Le Triton in Les Lilas with Zeuhl Kommandöh, an event refocused on the pulse, collective singing and the Kobaïan language that structure its repertoire. Formed in Paris in 1969 around Christian Vander, the group blends progressive rock, modal jazz and choral composition, driven by ostinato bass lines and cyclic rhythms. Pieces such as Mëkanïk Dëstruktïẁ Kömmandöh or Köhntarkösz laid the foundations of this aesthetic, extended on stage by a tightened ensemble approach where the voices answer the rhythm section. Since the 2000s, works like K.A, Ëmëhntëhtt-Ré, Félicité Thösz or Zëss have refined this tension between electric energy and vocal construction—composition at the core and a collective in motion.
On drums and vocals, Christian Vander steers the group’s trajectory, between a Coltrane-influenced legacy, taut ostinatos and choral architectures. With Zeuhl Kommandöh at Le Triton, he condenses different layers of the repertoire and reactivates the Kobaïan universe, conceived for the stage and carried by a line-up of variable configuration, where rhythmic dynamics and the work of the voices interlock with millimetric precision.
