Ludovico Einaudi

On 5 July 2026 Ludovico Einaudi will perform at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. The Italian composer and pianist, trained at the Milan Conservatory and once an assistant to Luciano Berio, developed his own idiom in which the piano’s sound is central. From Le Onde (1996) and I Giorni (2001) to Una Mattina, Divenire, Nightbook, In a Time Lapse, Elements, the seven-part Seven Days Walking and Underwater, he has been sketching melodies built from repetitive motifs, simple harmonies and a gentle blend of minimalism, folk and ambient.

In concert his music grows out of small patterns that shift slowly and build up in layers, with close attention to silence, resonance and timing. Themes return, change colour and acquire new weight; the piano leads, sometimes accompanied by subtle textures that add depth without overwhelming. Those who discovered Einaudi through films and series will recognise that direct emotional line; on stage it is allowed to breathe and expand. An evening to trace his trajectory, from the early waves to the recent underwater light.
