Kassa Overall

On April 11, 2026 at Espace 93 in Clichy-sous-Bois, Kassa Overall presents his hybrid approach between jazz, rap and electronic music. A drummer, producer and MC based in New York and born in Seattle, he developed his language on club stages and in the studio at the crossroads of jazz improvisation and rap composition. On stage he alternates acoustic drums, spoken-word and sung vocals, sampling and programming, with rhythms informed by trap, soul and swing, in a playing style where collage techniques and groove remain central.

His records Go Get Ice Cream and Listen to Jazz (2019), I Think I’m Good (2020) and Animals (2023) map out a constantly shifting terrain, between electronic ballads, more abstract textures and sections that verge on rap. In concert he adapts the lineup to suit the mood of the moment—from solo to expanded ensemble—to open space for instrumentalists and interaction.
