On 4 September 2026 at the Théâtre de la Mer in Sète, Les Wampas bring back their alternative rock crafted for the stage. Forty years of gigs under their belt and still that mix of raw energy, humor and punk drive that makes the guitars take off from the first riffs. Somewhere between off-kilter psychobilly and choruses that catch you in an instant, the band rolls out songs where the urge to jump into a fight meets a slightly battered tenderness. No posing, just a love of live performance, lyrics that sting without long speeches, and a very direct way of firing up the evening.
Didier Super opens the bill with his band Discount. A chansonnier with a blunt delivery, he returns here to a rock format after his more theatrical forays, backed by musicians and backing singers. Between social satire and well-placed absurdities, his songs trade on dissonance, slightly grating hooks and biting irony. On stage, it’s raw, deliberately simple and effective, designed to provoke as much as to get people moving. A perfect counterpoint to Les Wampas, sharing the same idea of unfiltered music, on a level with the audience, facing the Mediterranean.
