Info
Ibrahim Maalouf, a Franco-Lebanese trumpeter, has made his mark on international stages with a hybrid jazz in which the quarter-tone trumpet occupies a central place. Twice nominated for the Grammy Awards (2023, 2024), he has drawn large audiences to venues such as the Accor Arena and released more than twenty albums. A musician, composer and producer, he also writes for film and has been awarded a César. Notable collaborations include Sting, Angélique Kidjo, Kronos Quartet, Matthieu Chedid, Wynton Marsalis, A$AP Rocky, J Balvin, De La Soul and Marcus Miller. With Angélique Kidjo he created Queen of Sheba, a project praised for its musical ambition.
An indefatigable explorer, he published Petite Philosophie de l’improvisation, founded the m’IMPROvise festival and designed the TOMA trumpet, conceived to play quarter tones. In 2020, following the explosion at the Port of Beirut, he organized a televised event that raised more than €2 million for the victims. Honored by France, Lebanon and UNESCO, he continues his projects at the crossroads of jazz, Eastern heritage and pop.
Ibrahim Maalouf will be at Rockhal Esch-sur-Alzette on 30 March 2027.
