Bertrand Belin

Bertrand Belin will appear at Den Atelier, Luxembourg, on 10 March 2027. A singer-songwriter and author, he has, across five albums, traced a distinctive line between clear chanson and electric tension. Accustomed to sideways turns, he has repeatedly branched out into film, dance and theatre. Around Cap Waller he played 140 dates and composed film scores (Ma vie avec James Dean, ZouZou, Aurore, Autour de Luisa), before stepping in front of the camera and taking on Billy the Kid in an opera by Gavin Bryars. He also wrote and recited “Dimanche” on the Limiñanas’ album Shadow People. As an author, Requin and Littoral preceded his novel Grands Carnivores, published by P.O.L. He also appeared at Les Francos de Montréal in 2011, 2014 and 2017.

On stage Belin plays with nuance: a deep voice, clear guitars, words that snap and glide, a spoken-sung delivery that catches the light. His concerts advance through images and rhythms, leaving space to breathe. In Luxembourg he will unfold this blend of rigour and freedom, with a quiet tension and a keen attention to detail.
