Cedric Burnside, heir to the Hill Country Blues and a Grammy winner, will be at New Morning Paris on March 26, 2026. With Hill Country Love, his latest album, he returns to the essentials: recorded in a former Tippah County law office conceived as an all-wood juke joint whose resonance permeates every track. Together with producer Luther Dickinson, the 14 songs were captured in two days, in a direct, live-in-the-room approach that suits his music.

The grandson of R.L. Burnside, he openly claims that lineage and keeps his feet planted in that hypnotic blues while blending in touches of rock, R&B and hip-hop. The songs dive into his emotions and experiences, including the impact of his Grammy win. He asserts himself as the heir to a tradition he extends without diluting it, with forthright songwriting and a sound that looks as much to the old school as to the present. In concert, he highlights the Hill Country groove and the influences that run through the record.
