Since their adolescence, the six members of Jungle by Night have been evolving their music across stages and festivals. Initially nourished by Afrobeat, funk and jazz, their sound gradually opened up to krautrock, disco, electronic music and pop.
With Bar Dancing, their seventh album due out January 29, 2027 on Rush Hour, the Amsterdam-based group takes a new step: for the first time, Jungle by Night sings. The vocals now join brass, percussion and synthesizers to address more directly the themes that run through the band, from digital addiction to fake news, but also friendship, life on tour and the need for connection.
Analog, organic and designed for the dancefloor, Bar Dancing draws on 1980s pop, krautrock and the Neue Deutsche Welle, with echoes of Talking Heads, Air or Kraftwerk. A new facet of Jungle by Night, guided by groove, collective energy and the joy of live performance.
