Info
On May 12, 2027, at Paul B in Massy, Clinton Fearon pays tribute to the history of The Gladiators, the group he joined in 1969 and with which he helped shape a large part of Jamaican roots reggae. As the melodic bassist and a singer with a calm, poised voice, he revisits this repertoire in his own way, between deep groove and precisely crafted storytelling, with that sense of social and spiritual chronicles that marked his early years in Kingston. Based in Seattle since the late 1980s, Fearon has evolved his approach over the course of his projects, alternating electric formats with leaner, more stripped-down versions. On stage, it presents classic reggae, tightened by the bass and rhythms, where the songs speak of daily life, Jamaican memory, and political tremors, without grand speeches but with substance. A concert conceived as a passing of the baton between the golden age and the present.
