Info
Nubiyan Twist land at Komedia in Bath on February 3, 2027 with a refreshed line-up and a live set built for movement. The Leeds-born 9-piece collective sits right where UK jazz finesse meets afrobeat pulse, soul warmth, hip-hop snap and dance-floor pressure, stitched together with big-band brass, heavy percussion and tight arrangements that still leave room for improvisation.
Led by guitarist and composer Tom Excell, they’ve shaped a sound that jumps from deep grooves to sharp horn riffs and vocal hooks without losing the thread. Their recent run of records, from the breakthrough momentum of Jungle Run to the broader, more open feel of Freedom Fables and Find Your Flame, shows a band that keeps evolving while staying rooted in rhythm.
Known for high-impact shows and boundary-free collaborations (Nile Rodgers, Tony Allen, Seun Kuti, Fatoumata Diawara), Nubiyan Twist bring that same collective spirit onstage: music that connects genres and people, and keeps the room locked in from the first downbeat.
