Info
On February 4, 2027, corto.alto lands at Trinity Centre in Bristol with the restless, shape-shifting jazz that’s made Liam Shortall one of the faces of the new UK scene. Built like a collective and driven by improvisation as much as production, the project bends brass, beats and electronics into tight, off-kilter grooves that slide between hip-hop swing, soul warmth and club pressure.
After turning heads with Bad With Names and racking up major nods in 2025 (from Jazz FM Awards to a Mercury Prize nomination and an AIM breakthrough win), corto.alto keeps pushing the format: part live band, part studio brain, always moving. This show comes with the momentum of a heavy touring run and the return of a new chapter, with tracks from the third album SOME SMALL FORTUNE at the core, designed to hit like a gig but think like a producer.
