Info
On 13 April 2027, The Wombats land at O2 Academy Glasgow with a show built around A Guide To Love, Loss and Desperation, the record that first locked in their mix of nervy guitar rush, punchy choruses and a sly look at everyday chaos. Led by Matthew Murphy alongside Dan Haggis and Tord Øverland Knudsen, the Liverpool trio still runs on that tension between indie-rock urgency and basslines that want to move, with lyrics that circle anxiety, relationships and those small contradictions you can’t quite shake. Expect a set that nods to the early, sharp-edged songs while leaving room for the more electronic, glossy turns they’ve explored across later albums.
Opening the night, Cherryholt bring their tight British indie-pop snap: crisp guitars, quick melodies and clean, direct songwriting. The Stamford five-piece lean into band energy and big hooks, the kind that lift fast in a live room, setting the pace before The Wombats take over.
