Fontaines D.C. bring their Dublin-bred post-punk to Vancouver on May 6, 2027, at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre. Built around Grian Chatten’s sharp, story-driven delivery and a band sound that knows how to stay tense without freezing in place, their live set moves between abrasive guitars, tight rhythmic pressure and more open, reflective stretches. From the early bite of Dogrel through the darker, wider angles of Skinty Fia and the more textural turn on ROMANCE (recorded with producer James Ford), they’ve kept stretching the frame while holding on to that distinctly Irish sense of phrasing and grit. Expect a show that plays with pace and atmosphere as much as impact.
Opening the night, UK quartet Westside Cowboy land with their own hybrid: a rough-edged “Britainicana” that folds country inflections into indie and art rock. Songs from their EP So Much Country ’Till We Get There lean on taut guitars, big melodies and a band-first energy that hits hardest on stage—more about friction and chorus pay-off than faithful Americana cosplay.
