Info
On October 4, 2026, Baaba Maal brings his voice and long-running musical journey to Blue Note London. Born in Podor, in northern Senegal, he draws from the culture of Fouta and often sings in Pulaar, shaping songs where storytelling matters as much as rhythm. Onstage, that translates into a set that can move between Sahel traditions and West African folk, then slide into pop, reggae or soul colors depending on the moment.
Across decades of releases, Baaba Maal has kept opening his sound without losing what makes it instantly his: the vocal lines upfront, and the way each track feels tied to a place and a community. Expect a live show that mixes acoustic warmth with sharper electric energy, and a groove that can lean Afro-pop, rock, rap or electronic textures when he wants the music to travel further.
