Info
On December 7, 2026, at Blue Note London, Cory Henry brings his live playground to town with Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles for “A Jam Good Time”. Built around Henry’s keyboards, organ lines and voice, the band sits right where funk, soul and gospel cross paths, with just enough contemporary jazz to keep the edges loose.
What really drives this project is the way it breathes onstage: grooves that lock in and stretch out, multi-part vocals that lean into church harmonies, and those long improvised sections that turn a song into a moving target. You can expect tight rhythm work, fat bass patterns, and plenty of space for Henry to reshape themes in real time, flipping arrangements and pushing dynamics without losing the pulse. It’s less about reproducing a record than about watching a band build momentum together, track by track, bar by bar.
