Autumn is a time for nostalgia. A time for melancholy. The ideal atmosphere for the art of fado. Siesta on the Road has for years presented to the Polish public the music of old Lisbon. This season will be different. We have the Fado Gala ahead. Three key figures in a single project. Leading it is the virtuoso of the Portuguese guitar, Marta Pereira da Costa. Having challenged a world long dominated by men, Marta, a laureate of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, presents her art around the world, from Brazil to Senegal, from the United States to Tunisia. Her own album features Camane and Dulce Pontes, as well as Richard Bona. On the autumn Polish tour at Wytwórnia in Łódź, Marta will be accompanied by two artists: Brazilian Nani Medeiros, who naturally intertwines the tradition of old Alfama with the pulse of a tropical beach, and Duarte, who has performed encores several times at the Siesta Festival in Gdańsk. 'The Musketeer with a Guitar' sings differently than the Lisbon School suggests. Perhaps because he hails from ancient Évora. He embodies tenderness, delicacy, and gentleness. Never before had any fado concert presented as part of Siesta on the Road possessed such a palette of colors and such a variable dramaturgy.
