Simple Minds are returning to Copenhagen on 24 April 2027, as Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill take their long journey from Glasgow post-punk to grand, synth-driven rock, on stage at the Royal Arena Copenhagen. The concert threads back to the early, more angular years with nervous new wave and art-rock rhythms, but also to the period when the band refined a more open and melodic sound with atmospheric guitar textures and pulsating synth textures.
Expect a set that can span from the cool, Europe-inspired energy around Empires and Dance and Sons and Fascination to the more direct and expansive songwriting from the New Gold Dream era and onward into the stadium-friendly phase, where stagecraft and heft come into focus. And yes, there is, of course, also room for the big milestones, not least Don't You (Forget About Me), which still hits exactly where Simple Minds are strongest: at the meeting of drive, melodies and a sound that feels both classic and alive.
