On 2 October 2026, I Am Warrior lands at Jazz Cafe in London for a live celebration of Tomorrow’s Warriors, the community that helped shape generations of UK jazz musicians. At the centre is the Tomorrow’s Warriors Big Band, built for that full-spectrum big band rush: tight sections, punchy grooves, and plenty of space for solos to spark off each other.
The line-up brings together standout alumni including drummer Moses Boyd, vocalist CHERISE, trumpeter and composer Yazz Ahmed, and trumpeter Mark Kavuma. Expect new arrangements written for the occasion and guest-led moments that move between song, improvisation and forward-leaning jazz energy. CHERISE’s jazz-soul phrasing and feel for melody meets the band’s drive, while Yazz Ahmed’s mix of modern jazz language and Gulf-inspired colours opens up the harmony and the atmosphere. The result is less a nostalgia trip than a living snapshot of what the Warriors sound like now: collective, loud with ideas, and made for the room.
