Desire is the dream-pop duo with synth-pop-inflected reflections, led by Megan Louise's voice and Johnny Jewel's production. Born in Montreal, the project was built within the Italians Do It Better universe, blending melancholic melodies, mid-tempo, languid rhythms, and 80s textures that give the songs a nocturnal soundtrack feel. On stage, you encounter that cool-ish romance and that tension between softness and electronic pulsation that have established their signature since II, with 'Under Your Spell' having become an emblematic track. After Escape (2022) and Games People Play (2025), Desire continues to explore a pared-back, direct electronic pop, tailored for neon lights and catchier choruses that linger.
Johnny Jewel, a central figure of Italians Do It Better, has navigated since the 90s between synth-pop, Italo disco, ambient and film music. Co-founder of Glass Candy, craftsman of the Chromatics' sound and a film composer, he works with repetitive basslines, hazy pads and taut atmospheres, halfway between a slowed-down club and a score. On November 28, 2026 at Stereo, Glasgow, he will bring this cinematic aesthetic to life in a live setting, linking his various projects.
