SJM Concerts brings Cast back on stage on Thursday 22 October 2026 at Newcastle University Students’ Union in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Formed in Liverpool around John Power (ex-The La’s), Cast sit right where britpop meets punchy indie rock: bright, direct guitars, clean hooks, and choruses that stick without overdoing it. The classic mid-90s lineup with Liam “Skin” Tyson and Keith O’Neill helped shape that sound across records like All Change and Mother Nature Calls, before the band pushed into rougher, more open textures on Magic Hour and later experiments on Beetroot.
After splitting in the early 2000s, Cast regrouped in 2010 and kept moving forward rather than living off nostalgia, with albums like Troubled Times, Kicking Up the Dust, and Love Is the Call. Expect a set that connects the band’s sharp, melodic roots with the steadier, road-tested edge of their more recent years, plus support on the night.
