On May 31, 2027, Gilbert Montagné will take the stage at the Palais des Congrès in Perpignan for a concert centered on his French-language pop repertoire, blending pop, disco, and soulful touches. Singer, songwriter and pianist, he has built his signature around the piano, melodies that go straight to the point, and choruses designed to be sung in unison. Born in Paris in 1951 and blind from birth, Montagné trained very early on at the piano and began performing on stage as a teenager, before his first recordings in the late 1960s. Discovered in the early 1970s with 'The Fool', he then moved toward French-language material and settled permanently in the 1980s with a dance-pop energy typical of the era. On stage, he revisits these songs directly, propelled by a piano-driven central focus and an unabashed fondness for rhythmic tunes, between love stories and a desire to celebrate.
