Orchestra Baobab returns to the stage on 27 March 2027 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, with that unique blend born in Dakar nights in the early 1970s. Their signature: Afro-Cuban grooves that cross Wolof rhythms and Manding influences, carried by guitars that answer one another, a supple brass section, and vocals that navigate between several languages.
Over the decades, the collective has kept this sense of a piece that keeps turning for a long time, without rushing, and ends up irresistible. Figures such as Thierno Koité, Moussa Sissokho, or Yahya Fall hold the thread, surrounded by younger musicians who prolong the story without freezing it. We come for the harmonies, the rolling bass lines, the brass that restarts, and that very Baobab way of making you dance without overdoing it, between rumba, West African sonorities and the warmth of club music.
