Glasgow composer, producer and multi‑instrumentalist Liam Shortall brings his project corto.alto to Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on 19 November 2026. Under this alias, he folds conservatoire‑honed musicianship into club culture, blending jazz with electronic textures, hip‑hop swing and soul shades. On stage he leads a tight crew of close collaborators, switching between bass, synths, trombone and effects, steering pieces that shift tempo and mood while keeping the groove front and centre.

After his debut album Bad With Names and a Mercury Prize nomination, Shortall pushed further with 30/108, a month‑long drop of 30 tracks cut from a larger pool of demos. That spirit carries into the live set: fluid arrangements, live sound design, sharp rhythmic builds and room for improvisation. The result blurs the lines between a band show and a dancefloor session, horns locking with beats, textures morphing in real time and melodies that open up as the energy rises.
