Iguana Death Cult

With Iguana Death Cult's latest iteration, the band reflects on personal stories of hardship and doubt whilst fixing their gaze on the burning world around them.

Guitars, percussion, synths and a whole lot of soul-searching are all that Iguana Death Cult needed for their recent resurrection. As part of personnel changes, the band gained a new line-up, including drummer Uri Rennert (previously in Häxxan and Brian Jonestown Massacre). This new era channels their earlier punk and garage style while simultaneously feeling unmistakably contemporary. It is characterised by razor-sharp and highly rhythmic riffing by Tobias Opschoor and the drumming by Uri Rennert, by the percussion and synths by Jimmy de Kok, and by the voice of frontman Jeroen Reek, guiding the listener through feelings of despair, anger and solace.

Iguana Death Cult has toured over the last decade. Formed in 2014 as a group of friends wanting to make rock 'n' roll, the band has toured with Osees and Frankie and the Witch Fingers, supported Jack White, played SXSW, Levitation Festival and Desert Daze, and completed multiple US tours.
