Info
Embrace bring their melodic, post-Britpop songwriting to O2 Academy Birmingham on 21 November 2026. Formed in Bailiff Bridge in the early 90s by brothers Danny and Richard McNamara with Steve Firth, Mike Heaton and Mickey Dale, the band carved a path between indie rock guitars, airy keys and a lyrical edge. Their early run of singles All You Good Good People, Fireworks and One Big Family led to debut album The Good Will Out in 1998, followed by Drawn from Memory and If You’ve Never Been, where the writing grew more introspective. The 2004 return with Out of Nothing introduced Gravity, penned by Chris Martin, then This New Day in 2006. After a pause, Embrace resurfaced with the self-titled Embrace in 2014, Love Is a Basic Need in 2018 and How to Be a Person Like Other People in 2022.
On stage, Embrace weave the spacious melodies and dynamics that have marked their catalogue, moving from slow-burn build-ups to direct, singalong hooks. The set draws on their full span, linking the urgency of the early singles with the more open arrangements of recent years, with Danny McNamara’s voice at the core and guitars and keys trading the foreground. A concise, focused show that connects past and present without fuss.
