JS Promotions present Jesus Jones

Jesus Jones play The Cluny, Newcastle upon Tyne, on 3 December 2026. Formed in the late 1980s, the band carved out a space where alternative rock locks in with electronic textures and danceable rhythms, rooted in the UK’s grebo and alternative dance scenes. Led by Mike Edwards, they sharpened a direct, media‑literate pop sensibility, first breaking through with Liquidizer (1989) and then Doubt (1991), home to Right Here, Right Now, Real Real Real and International Bright Young Thing. Perverse (1993) nudged the formula toward darker, more industrial and digital tones without dropping the melodic thread, followed by Already, London, and, years later, the twin releases Passages and Voyages in 2018.

On stage, Jesus Jones draw across that catalogue: tight guitars, sampled layers and a steady pulse underpinning hook‑driven choruses. The set moves between ragged indie edges and sleek electronics, true to a group that has always operated in the seams between rock, pop and club culture.
