Mercury Rev brings the All Is Dream 25th Anniversary Tour to O2 Ritz Manchester on 16 October 2026. A quarter-century after deepening their shift from noise-fringed indie to orchestral pop, the band revisits the album that sharpened their blend of dream pop, folk shades and psych haze. On stage, Jonathan Donahue’s high, featherlight voice and Grasshopper’s guitar textures meet strings, brass and synths to shape songs that swing between slow-burn ballads and denser swells, reworked for the moment without losing their cinematic pull.

Formed in late-80s Buffalo, Mercury Rev first explored abrasion and dissonance before opening their writing to melody and space. With longtime ally and producer Dave Fridmann helping sculpt the detail, they forged a sound that sits somewhere between a band and a small orchestra. Deserter’s Songs led the turn; All Is Dream fixed it in place; later records like The Secret Migration, Snowflake Midnight and The Light in You kept stretching the palette. This tour places All Is Dream at the centre and threads in chapters from across their catalogue, played with the quiet intensity and odd grace that define their live shows.
