Motion City Soundtrack

Motion City Soundtrack hits Opium, Dublin on 26 May 2026. Formed in Minneapolis by Justin Courtney Pierre and Joshua Cain, the band blends melodic guitars with bright synth lines and lyrics that turn anxiety, relationships and everyday static into sharp pop punk and emo. Their live sets usually pull from across the catalogue: I Am the Movie and Commit This to Memory, through Even If It Kills Me and My Dinosaur Life, then the later chapters Go and Panic Stations.

On stage, the mix shifts between nervy power-pop bursts and mid-tempo tracks with a more reflective edge, Moog hooks up front and choruses built to be shouted back. After years in the Warped Tour orbit and club runs on both sides of the Atlantic, the group now surfaces for targeted shows that revisit the songs without extra varnish. Dublin gets a focused tour through the tracks that marked the 2000s and 2010s for the band, carried by that balance of punch, melody and candid storytelling at Opium.
