Angine de Poitrine

On October 22, 2026 at the Élysée Montmartre, Angine de Poitrine arrives with their instrumental duo from Quebec. Klek and Khn de Poitrine write experimental rock that moves between math rock, angular post-punk and a repetitive, machine-like approach bordering certain forms of techno. On stage, a dry-sounding drum kit sets down solid grooves while microtonal guitars and bass layer, shift and then withdraw short motifs. Chromatic phrases slide and tense the whole, within structures that are often asymmetrical but geared toward motion. Without vocals, everything relies on variation and rhythmic displacement—a tight yet danceable texture where rock energy meets a minimalist take on repetition.

Formed in 2023, the duo released Vol. 1 in 2024, honed their craft on Quebec stages and then appeared at Les Trans Musicales in 2025. In Paris, Angine de Poitrine presents a set that pushes microtonal exploration without losing the groove, with writing that is constantly evolving. A live performance built on accumulation and subtraction—precise, physical and fluid—that traces its path between harmonic tension and pulse.
