Ghinzu

Ghinzu marks their return seventeen years after Mirror Mirror. The Brussels-based band has announced W.O.W.A, to be released on May 29, 2026 via PIAS, and will perform it live on October 19, 2026 at Le Transbordeur in Lyon. Born at the dawn of the 2000s around John Stargasm (vocals, keyboards), with Mika Hasson (bass), Greg Remy and Jean Waterlot (guitars, keyboards) and Antoine Michel (drums), Ghinzu built an identity in which razor-sharp guitars, a central piano and electronic touches interlock in a play of contrasts and ruptures. On stage, tension rises in stages, between piano respites and electric outbursts.

From the self-produced Electronic Jacuzzi to the broader architectures of Blow and the darker edges of Mirror Mirror, the band forged a tense, melodic indie rock nourished by an almost cinematic imagination. This date at Le Transbordeur opens a new chapter: Ghinzu will present W.O.W.A there and reconnect with its repertoire, between abrasive anthems, insistent piano lines and high-pressure atmospheres. A return long-awaited by those who have followed the band since its beginnings, and an opportunity to rediscover live the songwriting that is at once direct and carefully arranged — the hallmark of the Belgian quintet.
