City and Colour strips it back for An Evening with City and Colour (solo) / the way it used to be... on May 3, 2026 at Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton. Dallas Green, the voice and pen behind the moniker, launched the project in the mid-2000s alongside his time in Alexisonfire. The name says it all: one person, one city, one colour, and a catalogue shaped by acoustic folk and americana, carried by a clear tenor and unadorned writing.
Early records like Sometimes (2005) and Bring Me Your Love (2008) set the tone with intimate, guitar-led songs. Later albums — Little Hell (2011), The Hurry and the Harm (2013), If I Should Go Before You (2015), A Pill for Loneliness (2019) and The Love Still Held Me Near (2023) — opened the door to broader arrangements, touching on alternative rock, country and blues.
This solo date leans back toward the quiet core of City and Colour: songs pared down to voice and guitar, space for melody, room for lyrics to breathe, and a set that pulls from two decades of writing.
