Info

An Evening with City and Colour (solo) / the way it used to be brings Dallas Green back to the bare essentials at the Orpheum in Vancouver on May 12, 2026. City and Colour is the songwriting moniker he launched in the mid-2000s alongside his role in post-hardcore band Alexisonfire, a space where he’s long explored a quieter palette. Early records like Sometimes and Bring Me Your Love sketched out a folk and americana core built on close-mic’d vocals and unadorned guitars, before widening the frame on Little Hell and The Hurry and the Harm with shades of alternative rock, country and blues. If I Should Go Before You leaned into a full-band feel, while A Pill for Loneliness and The Love Still Held Me Near pushed toward denser, more atmospheric arrangements.

In this solo format, Green pares everything back to melody, words and that unmistakable tenor. Expect songs drawn across his catalogue, carried by slow tempos, subtle shifts in dynamics and the tension he often plays between stripped-down folk and electric lift. It’s a return to the intimate songwriting that anchors City and Colour, played the way many of these tracks first took shape.
