Info
Formed in San Francisco, Deafheaven has built a sound at the crossroads of black metal, shoegaze and post-rock, where rising tensions and blast beats blend with luminous guitars and atmospheric washes. On stage, the five-piece plays up contrasts and stretches moods, moving between screamed vocals and clearer passages, with a sense of dynamics that carries the room. The band will be in Paris on 17 August 2026 at Petit Bain.
Brought to prominence by Sunbather in 2013, Deafheaven has since refined its trajectory with New Bermuda (2015) and Ordinary Corrupt Human Love (2018), before pushing melodic textures and clean singing further on Infinite Granite (2021). In 2024 the band signed with Roadrunner Records and followed with Lonely People With Power (2025), a sixth album that continues this turn while retaining the tension inherited from metal. On this European tour, George Clarke (vocals), Kerry McCoy and Shiv Mehra (guitars), Christopher Johnson (bass) and Daniel Tracy (drums) revisit the contrasting alchemy that has shaped their identity — between raw intensity, light-and-dark melodies and long progressions crafted for the live setting. It’s an opportunity to take in the band’s musical arc, from the detonations of their early work to the more shoegaze-tinged horizons of their latest songs, presented in a format designed for the stage.
