Info
On August 30, 2026, RBC Amphitheatre in Toronto hosts a bill bringing together Toto, Christopher Cross and The Romantics. Formed in Los Angeles in 1977 around studio players David Paich, Jeff Porcaro and Steve Lukather, Toto shaped a sound that mixes FM rock, melodic pop and touches of funk and jazz. From the finely arranged Toto IV era to songs like Rosanna, Africa and Hold the Line, the band moves between ballads and a more assertive rock feel, with vocal leads that have passed from Bobby Kimball to Joseph Williams. On stage, their core remains the same: melodic guitars, prominent keys and a tight, precise rhythm section.
Christopher Cross adds smooth West Coast colors and meticulous songwriting. Known for Sailing, Ride Like the Wind and Arthur’s Theme, he leans into clear melodies, soft rock contours and a clean, unhurried delivery that sits naturally alongside Toto’s arrangements.
Also on the bill, The Romantics bring Detroit new wave and power-pop hooks. With punchy guitars and call-and-response choruses, tracks like What I Like About You and Talking in Your Sleep set an upbeat tone that connects instantly with a crowd.
Event is rain or shine.
