On April 3, 2026, HighSchool will play at Le Hasard Ludique in Paris. The Melbourne duo, composed of Rory Trobbiani and Luke Scott, first made a name for themselves with Forever at Last, a debut EP that blends lo-fi, new wave, goth and post-punk. After spending some time in London, they released Only a Dream with Dan Carey on Speedy Wunderground, followed by Colt, and went on to tour Australia, Europe, Japan and North America. They have shared bills with Sam Fender, Provoker and Chvrches, and performed at festivals such as SXSW, The Great Escape and All Points East. Signed to PIAS, they followed up with Accelerator, a darker second EP rooted in the contemporary post-punk scene. After touring with Wunderhorse, they set to work on their self-titled debut album, produced by Ben Hillier (Blur, Depeche Mode) and Finn Bellingham. Recorded between London and Melbourne, the record navigates post-punk tension, slowcore lulls and bursts of alt-rock, featuring tracks like Dipped, Sony Ericsson, Chaplins and Colt. True to their visual universe, Rory and Luke also direct their own videos, drawing on cinematic influences and a distinctly adolescent sensibility.
