Info
Peter Bjorn and John, an indie-pop trio hailing from Sweden, celebrate the 20th anniversary of Writer’s Block and will stop at La Marbrerie in Montreuil on May 7, 2026. Released in 2006, this third album carried the band far beyond Stockholm with “Young Folks,” a duet featuring Victoria Bergsman and its instantly recognizable whistle. Behind the hit lies precise songwriting, bright guitars, crisp rhythms and melodies that settle in effortlessly. The record’s influence spilled beyond the indie sphere: Kanye West recorded over “Young Folks,” Drake sampled “Let’s Call It Off,” and Azealia Banks made “The Chills” her own.
On stage, the trio performs Writer’s Block in its entirety, then dips into the rest of a dense discography, ranging from luminous pop to more kinetic outings. It’s an opportunity to revisit twenty years of carefully crafted songs, carried by the chemistry of Peter Morén, Björn Yttling and John Eriksson, who forged a distinctive sound—between catchy choruses and restrained arrangements. A date to dive back into a key period and appreciate how these tracks still ring true today.
