The Brand New Heavies bring their London-bred acid jazz DNA back to the stage at Blue Note London on December 14, 2026. Built around Simon Bartholomew, Andrew Levy and Jan Kincaid, the band has been refining that tight blend of funk, soul and jazz-funk since the late ’80s: elastic grooves, basslines that do the talking, and a live feel that keeps everything warm and direct.
Expect a set that moves through the eras without turning into a museum piece, from the early self-titled momentum to the peak years that opened them up to wider audiences, when the songs got sharper and the choruses hit harder. Their history of powerhouse female vocals is part of the story too, and today the lineup continues with Bartholomew and Levy at the core alongside singer Angela Ricci, keeping the sound grounded, rhythmic, and made for a crowd rather than a playlist.
