Info
The Brand New Heavies land in London for a live set at Blue Note London on December 22, 2026, bringing back the Ealing-born groove that helped shape the UK acid jazz wave. Built around Simon Bartholomew and Andrew Levy’s tight guitar-bass interplay and Jan Kincaid’s drumming, the band’s DNA is all about elastic rhythms, warm keys and that jazz-funk snap that pushes straight into soul.
On stage, expect a run through the eras: the early, club-ready cuts from their self-titled debut, the 90s peak where funk meets contemporary soul and hip-hop touches, and later material that keeps the same “band-first” energy. With Angela Ricci on vocals, they lean into the classic Brand New Heavies balance: crisp grooves, big choruses, and room for the musicians to stretch without losing the pocket.
