Info
On 24 October 2026 in Southampton, The Chameleons bring their signature strain of British post-punk to the EngineRooms, built on that spacious, melodic guitar sound that’s been their calling card since the early 1980s. Led by Mark Burgess, the set is expected to lean into the band’s mix of taut rhythm section, prominent bass lines and chiming, echo-heavy guitars, where songs stretch out into atmosphere without losing their direct, song-first structures. It’s a chance to hear material associated with their key records from the era when they sharpened their identity, alongside later cuts that kept the same balance of dark tones and clear melodies.
Also on the bill, Lol Tolhurst digs into The Cure’s catalogue, revisiting those songs through the perspective of someone who helped shape that world from the inside. Together, it makes for a night rooted in the same post-punk lineage, with two distinct angles on mood, texture and pop sense.
